There are a wide number of events within the game. Click on the calendar near the town hall or go to your family tab and click the calendar icon to spot when an event will happen. Each event is unique, except for the Sunday market which takes place every week. Make sure to prepare by checking your mailbox for an event invitation with news on when the event is scheduled, and whether you should sign up for it ahead of time.

Most events you will need to arrive on time in order to participate. If you arrive too late, you will not be able to sign up in the event depending on the holiday. Some events will be more strict about arriving on time, such as the bake off, harvest festival, and the lantern festival.

Non-Season Specific Events

Weddings

When two villagers get married, you will receive a wedding invitation in the mail. All weddings take place in the Town Hall between 12-1pm. The ceremony begins with the couple under an arch, while the mayor conducts the service. It ends with the couple kissing before walking out of the Town Hall down the aisle. You can talk to the villagers that gather for the ceremony, but their first conversation topic will be to tell you how rude it is to chat during the ceremony. It is unclear if this results in friendship loss or not.

Funerals

When a villager dies, you will receive a funeral invitation in the mail. All funerals take place in the Graveyard between 3-4pm. The ceremony begins with all attending villagers arriving in black clothes to a freshly dug grave and a frame photo of the deceased on display. The mayor conducts the service, and then the ceremony ends when everyone leaves. You can talk to the villagers that gather for the ceremony.

Market

Every week of the year there is a Sunday market, where various villagers will set up a stall in the main square to sell their wares. The stalls include: a fishing stall, a livestock stall, a honey stall, a produce stall, and a lavender stall. The market runs from 10am-2pm.

Spring

Spring 13: Fishing Contest

The contest starts at 8 am at the town square. You can still join later but you will lose time in comparison to the other contestants. Your task is to fish around the map and catch as many fish as possible. Once it ends at 4 pm, you will directly be teleported back to the town square where they will announce the winner of the contest. Each fish you catch awards "fish tokens" which allow you to purchase special event items.

You can purchase three prizes: Fish Plush Toy for 100 fish tokens; Deep in the Ocean Painting for 300 fish tokens; and a Rainbow Fishing Rod for 500 fish tokens.

Summer

Summer 13: Bake-off Contest

The Bake-Off starts at 11am in the forest meadow, that is located behind a wooden gate which opens on specific contest days. You need to enter before noon to participate. You don't need to bring any ingredients, as you can grab everything you need for free from the event storage. The three jury members will ask for special recipes you need to cook. If you don't know the recipes, you can rotate the requests until you find something that you can cook. Your stove is the one in the middle. After you finished cooking the dish, submit it to the jury that asks for it. Try to complete as many requests as possible.

At the event you can also buy unique recipes from the baker and inn-keeper.

Fall

From 9am-5pm, children will don costumes and go door-to-door and ask for candy. You may wait for them on your farm or offer treats throughout town. Candy is crafted with the Candy Maker, and you may be able to buy some from some villagers. Depending on how much candy you give out, you will receive a letter from the mayor "grading" how well you did. For example, if you don't hand out any candy, the mayor will send you a letter the next day telling you that all the children of Honeywood are sad. You cannot give treats after 5pm.

At 5pm, a bonfire begins in the forest meadow. Innkeepers will be selling recipes for Apple Cider and Caramel Apples. Bakers will be selling recipes for Pumpkin Bread and Candycorn Cake (along with Candycorn). The witch will be selling a Peacock Chair.

Fall 20: Harvest festival

At this event, there are two contests you can enter and win: the animal and harvest contest. To enter, interact with the characters with a "!" over their heads before noon.

For the animal contest, you will be asked to select one of your animals to participate. Conveniently, all of your animals conditions are listed in the same menu you select them from. Judging is completed by 3pm. If you win, you will receive 500 coins and the Farmland Turkey Painting.

The harvest contest allows you to select one of the grange display cases and submit items for the competition. Each grange case can display nine items, and they do not appear to be limited to farm items. Judging is completed by 12:30pm.

You can also gamble at the witches tent on the main plaza. For 25 coins you can win 50 coins, 100 coins, or a pumpkin plush. You can also lose your money, so be careful! There is also a merchant named Autumn Patches who sells you a few items like: pumpkin pie recipe, a pumpkin hat, a pumpkin pie, and a unique hair. In the food tent, one of villagers will have additional fall recipes for sale: Roasted Duck Recipe, Pumpkin Punch Recipe, Autumn Salad Recipe, and Squash Pasta Recipe.

Winter

Inhabitants of Honeywood hold three distinct festivals in the winter months: The Crafting Contest, The Winter Gala, and the Lantern Festival.

Winter 6: The Crafting Contest

The festivities take place in a tent by the schoolhouse at 9am. When you arrive, speak with the character with a "!" above their head to begin the festival. A timer will appear on the top left of your screen and will begin counting down the moment you close the dialogue box. This festival has three judges who stand on the stage behind the quest giver. Speaking with each of them will give you clues as to what the desired object you need to craft will be. The clues will cover three different features: cost (ex. not too expensive but not too cheap), use (ex. for drinks), and size (ex. a small item).

Run home and craft an item that satisfies all three clues. When the timer runs out, a scene will play out where each of the townsfolk competing will present the object they crafted before the judges. The winner will be announced, and will receive a master craftsman certificate signed by the king!

Winter 12: The Winter Gala

There are two parts to the Winter Gala, the Gala itself and an optional cranberry harvesting activity prior to the Gala. On the day of the Gala, the innkeeper(s) will sell special holiday foods and recipes, including: Twelfth Cake, Marzipan, Plum Pudding, Mince Pie, and Fruitcake.

Cranberry Harvesting

You will receive an invitation in the mail the day before the Gala with an option to RSVP to join the cranberry harvesting activity. If you click yes, then you are expected to harvest cranberries around Honeywood prior to the event. Cranberries spawn on the ground in all regions except the player's farm, and on trees in the mushroom Forest. You must turn your collected cranberries into the Mayor before the Gala begins to complete the cranberry harvesting portion of the event. Depending on how many cranberries you harvest and turn in, you will receive a letter from the mayor the following day with a scaling amount of gold and a cranberry punch. For example, submitting 36 cranberries results in an "adequate gala" letter, with 50 gold and 1 bronze cranberry punch.

The Winter Gala takes place from 5-10pm at the Town Hall. You will receive an invitation in the mail the day before with an option to RSVP to join the cranberry harvesting activity.

Winter 21: The Lantern Festival
