Once the Tutorial is completed, the Player is presented with the Farm, which serves as their home and place of work for the rest of the game. It is offered to them by Quentin Whitfield, who says that Timothy Tweed had been planning to purchase it before the ship carrying him and the player sank in the Storm. The Farm is taxed weekly, which must be paid to the Mayor by Sunday each week. Taxes start out as 50 coins and increase as you make more money off of the land1.

Outdoors

At the start of the game, the outdoor section of the farm is overrun with stones, weeds, trees, and bushes. With the tools found inside the farmhouse, the player can clear some land, yielding valuable early-game resources of sticks, straw, and stone. In order to clear the trees, the player will have to obtain an axe, which is not among the starter tools.

Farmhouse

The Farmhouse is a small building located to the back of the farm near the entrance. It can be moved, or upgraded, at the Brothers Carpentry.

Trivia

1 Despite being referred to by Quentin as Land Tax, this would be more accurate to Income Tax given that it is based on the player's profit and not any change to the land itself.
