Seeds

Seeds are required for growing crops. Most can be purchased from the Farmers or Indigo Farmers. Villagers with the farming hobby will carry small amounts of seeds, and Sailors may have rare seeds. Children also have a chance to carry a few seeds. Seeds for sale are generally for the current season, though there can be exceptions.

Planted seeds must be watered the day they are planted, otherwise they will disappear at midnight. Most seeds can only be planted in specific seasons. The exceptions are trees and bushes, which can be planted anytime but only produce during their season. Most crops will drop seeds when harvested.

Trees

All trees take 15 days to mature. They can be planted at any time but will only bear fruit in their specific season. See here for more information about the mechanics of trees.
