The Player refers to character in control of the Farm and who lives in the Farm House. As you advance through the game, you build relationships with the Villagers and progress through Generations. When you start a new game, there are several settings and character customization options to personalize your experience. There are also more options available as you play through the game.
Options
Options are where your in-game settings are located. There are settings for Gameplay, Graphics, Audio and Controls (key binds or controller options). These options can be changed at any time and take affect immediately. Below are the settings that affect gameplay.
GamePlay
- Clock Format - Set Time to either 12 or 24 hour clock.
- Language - English, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, German and Portuguese
- Fishing Game - Timed, Untimed, Off
- Aging - Sets aging for NPCs: Fast, Normal, Slow, Off
- Taxes - On, Off
- Visible Pregnancy - On, Off
- Backer Content - Kickstarter Backers have a chance to be tourists or move to the island: On, Off
- Player Aging - On, Off
- Hunger - On, Off
- Energy - On, Off
- Diseases - On, Off, NPCs Only
- Tool Durability - On, Off
- Item Decay - On, Off
- Pet Menu - On, Off
- Smallpox Visible - On, Off
Character Customization
You can select several options to customize your character initially. All of these settings can be changed the longer your play the game has you unlock more options.
Body
- Pronouns - He/Him, She/Her, They/Them
- Eyes - With / Without Eyelashes
- Skin Tone - 14 options in varies shades
- Nose Shape - Round, Triangle, Square
Hair
- Hair Color - Platinum, Golden Blonde, Light Red, Dark Red, Light Brown, Dark Brown, Black, White
- Hair Style - 10 options, more unlock in-game
Outfit
- Outfits - 10 starter outfits, more available in-game
- Dyes - Black, Brown, Green, more available in-game
Accessories
- Shoes - 10 options, more available in-game
- Glasses - 2 options, more available in-game
- Facial Hair - 2 options, more available in-game
